While others seek to profit by cutting corners, or recommending unnecessary services to customers, Tom believes that a good reputation and consistent service will reap bigger profits in the long run. By being trustworthy, Borthwick Jewelry believes that they will enjoy a long term profitable business that serves the community.

Tom Borthwick grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia Pa. He became an Eagle Scout 

and later graduated from Penn State University in 1988.  After moving to Burlington, Vermont Tom became manager for 6 year for Gordon's Jewelry in the mall.  Tom and his brother then moved out west to Seattle.  Tom managed Merksamer Jewelers in Bellevue square mall before  marrying and having a daughter named Nicole.  Eventually His family moved to Bellingham where he still managed a Merksamer Jewelry store in the Bellis Fair mall.  After developing a deep knowledge and understanding of running a successful business for others. In March of 1997 Tom started his own  store in Ferndale called Borthwick Jewelry & Coins Inc.  In 2001 Tom won the Record Journal's Business Person of the year award !











After a devorce 2 years later Tom married Tami Pieper in 2007 and is very happy still running Borthwick Jewelry in Ferndale.
       The Borthwick Family is very adventurous and is often swimming in the lake, fishing, four wheeling, camping, hiking, rafting, skiing, biking, bowling, inter tubing,
 going to Canada, playing near the bay, and much more!

   Carol Vance 
 has been working for Tom over 8 years.  She started back at the original store on main street and came back when we reopened the new store in the Cost cutter shopping center.  Carol and her husband moved here in 1979 from Yakima, Wa. to raise there two daughters.  They now have 3 handsome grandsons and are Proud to call Ferndale their home. 
Carol says
"It is nice working for a family oriented Business in the Community we now call home."

Erin O'Reilly
started working for Tom 2 years ago.  She originally moved here from Virginia to snowboard at Mount Baker.  After seven years in washington she has also claimed the northwest as her home.  Her cute little
boston Terrier dog named Rex comes to the store and greets many people.  He likes the attention:)
