I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia Pa. and became an Eagle Scout .  Later graduated from Penn State University in 1988.  In Burlington, Vermont I became manager for 6 year for Gordon's Jewelry in the mall.  My brother & I then moved out west to Seattle.  I managed Merksamer Jewelers for 5 years.  Eventually we moved to Bellingham where I managed a Merksamer Jewelry store in the Bellis Fair mall.  After developing a deep knowledge and understanding of running a successful business for others. In March of 1997  Borthwick Jewelry & Coins Inc was started in Ferndale .  It was exciting winning In 2001 the Record Journal's Business
Person
of the year award.


    I am married toTami Pieper, 
 I am very happy __))
       The Borthwick Family is very adventurous and is often swimming in the lake, fishing, four wheeling, camping, hiking, rafting, skiing, biking, bowling, inter tubing,
 going to Canada, playing near the bay, and much more!

 Carol retired in march of 2010 she was a wonderful worker whom the customers & I loved:))  she was fun to work with and will be missed:)
